Spring is the time to rejuvenate a tired winter garden. By turning over the soil and adding amendments, your ground will be ready for all the new plants, flowers and vegetables that will add color to your garden. So don't delay, start today.
PLANTING:
Now is the time to see our large selection of roses in all of their blooming glory. We have over 30 varieties of roses to choose from! Don't forget to plant your shade trees now, to take advantage of their cooling shade in summer. We stock a large selection of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs. If you can't find what you are looking for, we'll be happy to order it for you.
LAWN CARE:
Feed lawns now with an application of Scotts Lawn Fertilizer. Control existing weeds with Scotts Weed & Feed. Remember to start raising your mowing height as the weather gets warmer.
TREES & SHRUBS:
Feed shrubs and trees every 2 months with Osmocote or Plant-tone. Broadleaf evergreens should be fed every 2 months after they have finished blooming with Miracid or Holly-tone. To control aphids on tender new growth, spray with Sevin.
ROSES:
Feed roses every 2 months from March thru October with Bayer Advanced Rose & Flower Care which also controls aphids, spider mites, and thrips. Prevent and control blackspot, powdery mildew and rust with Bonide Fung-Onil. Avoid night watering. You can also use all natural Espoma Rose-tone to feed your roses.
FLOWERS & VEGETABLES:
Energize tired beds by working in Tender Loving Compost or Mushroom Compost into existing soil. Apply Peat Moss before planting. Feed flowers every two weeks with Miracle Gro. Feed vegetables monthly with Garden-tone (the calcium in this unique plant food helps prevent blossom end rot in tomatoes and peppers).
